A “Significant Character” Will be “Coming Out” Next Season on The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl or Legends

While there was a ton of interesting news from the TCA’s earlier this week, potentially the most interesting and yet “brushed under the table” news was the fact that, according to EP of The Flash Andrew Kreisberg, “One of the characters on one of the shows is going to be exploring their sexuality and coming out,” further stating that “We’re very excited about that.”

The producers didn’t state which character it would be, EP Greg Berlanti stated that the character was significant and that, “the only reason we wouldn’t [say] is we really want the audience to enjoy the character developments and not necessarily be ahead of the storyline.”

Despite the fact that producers haven’t confirmed [nor denied] who might be coming out, we’ve broken down a list of major DCTV characters who could [or could not] be the character the EP’s are referring to:

Already Out:

  • Nyssa Al Ghul

  • Curtis Holt

Unlikely:

  • Harrison Wells (or Earth-?!?!)  – Married
  • Joe West – Married (seemingly happily to a woman) prior to divorce
  • Ray Palmer – Shown to have interest in the opposite gender (i.e. Felicity Smoak, his ex. finance, Kendra Saunders)
  • Henry Heywood – Grandfather of Nate Heywood, therefore would have had to reproduce with someone of the opposite gender

  • Rip Hunter – Married (or was…)
  • Martin Stein – Married
  • Oliver Queen – Shown to have interest in the opposite gender (i.e. Felicity Smoak, Sara Lance, Dinah Laurel Lance, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.)

  • John Diggle – Married
  • Lyla Diggle – Married
  • Quentin Lance – Shown to have interest in the opposite gender (i.e. Dinah Drake, Donna Smoak)
  • Donna Smoak – Shown to have interest in the opposite gender (i.e. Didn’t they slyly imply she was a hooker?…Quentin Lance? )
  • Kara Danvers – Shown to have interest in the opposite gender (i.e. Barry Allen, Jimmy Olsen)
  • Jimmy Olsen – Shown to have interest in the opposite gender (i.e. Kara Danvers, Lucy Lane)
  • Cat Grant – Previously married.
  • Hank Henshaw/Martian Manhunter – Previously Martian(?) married.

Maybe:

  • Wally West – Seemingly showed interest in Jesse Quick.
  • Jesse Quick – Seemingly showed interest in Wally West.
  • Leonard Snart – Seemingly showed interest in Sara Lance, BUT the actor has stated he’d prefer his character’s sexually be left open to interpretation.
  • Jax Jackson – Seemingly showed interest in Kendra Saunders.
  • Eobard Thawne – Not much is known of his character BUT The Flash has always stayed relatively true-to-source, and Eobard did love Iris from afar for some time.
  • Wynn Schott – Seemingly showed interest in Kara Danvers and Soibhan Smythe.
  • Maxwell Lord –  Seemingly showed interest in Cat Grant.

More Likely then the Rest:

  • Todd Rice – Nothing known of his character, but his comic counterpart is gay.
  • Nate Heywood – Nothing is known of his character.
  • Mari McCabe – Not much is known of her personal life.

Clark Kent should be on the Unlikely list. Other than being exposed to Pink Kryptonite (and it wore off), Superman has never been gay. Ever. Alex Danvers should also be on the MAYBE list because she has stated she has dated boys in college.

  • Knight

And Lar Gand has always been depicted as straight so he should be on the Unlikely list as well

    • The Arrowverse

… Not really making too much sense considering it doesn’t play into his story like it does with other characters… And Mr. terrific was also “Always straight “

Y’all realize bisexuals are a thing? It could be any character really. It doesn’t matter if they’ve shown interest in the other gender
