Gotham Season 4 Episode 1 Synopsis Revealed and The Return of Scarecrow Teased

Despite all appearances of Gotham S3 finale looking like a series finale, Season 4 promises to pick up where it left off leaving Gotham still recovering. Bleeding Cool found a synopsis on Gotham’s first episode of the new season.The synopsis itself reads

Gotham’s origin story continues to unfold, and as the show enters its fourth season, the stakes will be higher than ever! With the Court of Owls decimated, the aftermath of the Tetch virus crippling the city, and every (surviving) villain in Gotham’s underworld jockeying for power, Jim Gordon and the GCPD will have their hands full. That’s not all, The Scarecrow or at the very least Johnathan Crane is going to make his reappearance since Season 1. According to Comic Book, Both David Mazouz and Drew Powell who respectively play Bruce Wayne and Butch Gilzean talked about the return of Scarecrow at Heroes and Villians Fest at Nashville David hinted that “Scarecrow comes back in season four. It’s on full blast, I’m really excited!” While Drew chimed in “It’s super creepy too, you’re gonna love it.”

As a recap, Johnathan Crane (Charlie Tahan) appeared alongside his father Gerald (Julian Sands) who had devised a toxin to remove fear. Geralds efforts saw him create a successful anti-fear toxin by becoming a serial killer and harvesting his victim’s adrenal glands. however, Gerald was killed but not before he also tested the serum on his son which left him permanently in fear.

Gotham is set to return September 28th.
