Morena Baccarin recently answered a question posed by Corey Chichizola of Cinema Blend. The question was simple, what kept her character, Dr. Leslie Thompkins in Gotham. Her answer was quite depressing and dark, which seems to fit the current mood of character.
Right now it’s revenge. And trying to figure out how to put it together. She got taken under by Falcone a little bit and then she realized that’s not the way to go. I think she said ‘fuck it’ a little bit. And she’s like ‘I got this job, I’m working it out’ and she’s just trying to figure out what to do. And I think what ends up happening at the end of this season is inevitable. And she needs to go there in order to get herself out of this funk. I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s going to be great.
This raises the question just what kind of road is Leslie is going to go down on for the rest of Season 3? Morena’s reference to being taken under Falcone, is based off episode 3×12 Ghosts where after the events of the prior episode she declared Jim to be a disease and only tried to convince Falcone to call off his hit on Jim after seeing what the Alice Tetch virus did to Nathaniel Barnes. So if Leslie is still out for revenge, what would she plan that would Jim more than hurt more than having him killed?
Gotham is set to return on Monday April 24th on Fox.
