LoT 2×09: ‘Raiders of the Lost Art’ Synopsis Revealed

We got a promo a few weeks back regarding the next episode of Legends. The only stuff really shown that we could see clearly were the Legends being on the tail of the Legion of Doom (which was officially namedropped), them having Rip, a bunch of scenes regarding explosions, portals, the 1700s, and powers being used. Oh, and for a quick glimpse, we see Nate and Vixen porking. Great. Anyway, here is the official synopsis of episode 2×09:

When Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and Malcolm Merlyn (guest star John Barrowman) try to capture Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) in 1967, they create an Aberration big enough to draw the attention of the Legends.  However, when the team arrives they discover that Rip has no memories of his past due to “time drift” and is just a graduate film student. After trying to convince Rip of who he was, they discover that he possesses an incredibly powerful artifact known as the Spear of Destiny, which the Legion of Doom is after. Ray (Bradon Routh) and Nate (Nick Zano) realize that the Aberration has also affected them personally making it difficult to help the team.  Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) asks Stein (Victor Garber) for help and makes him promise to keep it a secret from the team. Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu & Chris Fedak.

While a general idea of the episode was given in the promo, the previous episode and George Lucas being an integral character to the plot with the casting, this only gives us a few more specifics but nothing much since we gathered from the information I just mentioned. The only thing we didn’t know was the subplot regarding Rory and Stein. I am excited very much for this episode (even though there is the obligatory romantic subplot, which I thought they ditched in season 1) because of my love of Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and being a film student myself. This will hopefully make for a great episode. By the way, Darvill has a pretty damn good American accent.

Legends of Tomorrow will be returning in its new time slot, Tuesday January 24th.
