LoT: Season 3 Synopsis and Big Bad

After a little bit more than a month, we finally get some Legends of Tomorrow news. It is actually pretty big too. We get a synopsis of season 3 and the new big bad of the season, and it is very strange, so let’s get into it. Season 3 deals with the repercussions of the team’s actions in the season finale. If you have forgotten or don’t watch the show, (if that’s the case, then why are you reading this article?) the season finale dealt with the Legends biting the bullet and traveling back to a time where they have participated in so they could stop the Legion of Doom once and for all. It was because of this that a Time Storm was unleashed. It wasn’t a problem until the end of the episode where the Legends crash land in 2017 LA and see dinosaurs roaming around and futuristic architecture. It was no surprise that they have to deal with it this upcoming season. However, they also have to deal with the Time Bureau, the big bad for season 3. At the head of said Bureau? Rip Hunter himself who thinks the Legends’ methods are far too messy to deal with the delicate time stream.

Here is the more specific synopsis:

“After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms – a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question. With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband – until Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell) discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time traveling heroics, Sara (Caity Lotz) wastes no time in getting the Legends back together.  We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nate Heywood (Nick Zano), and Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh), who together form the meta-human Firestorm. Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends.”

So, not only will they deal with the Time Bureau, but they will momentarily disband because of it. Until Mick comes to the rescue where they have to come back together to defeat the Bureau and save time itself.

Lots of interesting ideas and I really like what they’re doing. While the idea of just dealing with a Time Storm for an entire season sounded kinda lame, they took the idea and ran with it. However, making Rip the bad guy once again, was a little dumb. However, I am intrigued so let’s see what will happen with any more upcoming news this summer.
